Barbeque Bob Maglinte, a seasoned veteran blues harmonica virtuoso
and vocalist from the Boston, MA area, after dealing with kidney failure for
several years, recently received a kidney transplant, and is now back on the scene
with a vengeance. His playing has been a big influence over the years on a number
of local area musicians, and continues to be so. Bob has played and
toured with more than a few luminaries in the world of Blues, such as
the late, great former Muddy Waters guitarist and Chess recording artist
Jimmy Rogers, Sunnyland Slim, former Muddy Waters guitar man Luther
“Guitar Junior” Johnson, and Louisiana Red (he was chosen to replace Blues
harmonica great Carey Bell on a Northeast tour). He has called his sound as basically the sound of classic 50’s style Chicago styled Blues, infused
with the sounds of West Coast Jump Blues and Swing, making his distinctive sound a force to be reckoned with. read more >
